December Newsletter

Holidays
Happy Holidays!!!!

We will be having our Daycare Christmas Party on Monday, December 18, 2017. We will do our gift exchange during the day and having a fun afternoon snack for all the children.

Your child will be drawing names for their "Secret Santa" this week, for those who are not in school. So if for any reason you do not want your child to participate in this, please let me know by December 13.  I will send home a note saying who's name your child drew and the age of the child. The limit is $20.

Flu Season

Flu Season has approached us. I encourage ALL children to get the Flu Shot, if they can. Please if you have any questions as to if your child should attend daycare please feel free to ask. I've got a list from the The Children's Hospital & CDC of different things as to when to keep your child home with you.  Just remember that a lot illnesses are contagious before symptoms appear.  Temperature over 100 degrees F is considered a fever according to the CDC.

Operation Christmas Child
We successfully had enough toys to make 4 boxes instead of 2.....YAY!!!!! Thank you to all the families who helped make this a success.

New Blanket Policy
Due to safety issues and to reduce risks, no child under the age of 2 will be given a blanket for nap time. Infants birth to 12 months will be provided a sleep sack as stated in the Infant Safe Sleep Policy.

New Sign-In & Sign-Out
They are still unsure as to when this is going to be us and running. Please watch texts and emails for more information. Every parent will need an email. Once one parent has been contacted, you will be able to assign as many people to pick up your child. Each person will then create their own 8-digit PIN. I will  have this setup on either my phone or an iPad. Unfortunately there is no way to practice this until it goes LIVE. All sign-in and sign-outs must be caught up by every Friday. I will train each of you once this goes LIVE. I'm so excited!

Quality Ratings
We are officially a Colorado Shines Level 4 program....YAY!!!! I want to thank each and everyone again for helping with new procedures and protocols for rating. I am in the middle of the re-submission process for one of the document learning areas to try to get us to a Level 5 (highest you can score). We are 2 points under the cut-off for a Level 5. Everyone seems very certain we can make....FINGERS CROSSED and LOTS of PRAYERS! You all will be the first to know when it is completed.

***Yearly Rate Increase***
Reminder that everyone's rate will increase on January 1, 2018. It will be $1/day/child. Please be watching for a written agreement for your weekly/daily amount.

November Newsletter

Thanksgiving
Wishing all of you a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! This year will be adding something new in to our holiday. The kids will be having a Friendsgiving Lunch. This will be on Monday, November  20. I will be providing turkey. I am asking that each family share one of their family food traditions, please let me know what your family will be sharing by Wednesday, November 15, that way not everyone brings pumpkin pie =). This should be fun for the kids.

Operation Christmas Child
This year we as center will be donating a shoe box of toys and other items to send over seas to 2 children. We are talking about being thankful for what we have and that giving and sharing is kind. The kids will be making/putting a box together for a boy and a girl ages 2-4. I am asking each kid to donate 1 boy and 1 girl item to place in the box, if you want to do more that's ok as well. We will be shipping these off next Friday. There will be a label on the box so the kids can see who gets our gifts. I think the kids are going to love it and it teaches such good values. I will have a list printed of items to and not to buy. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Flu Season

Flu Season has approached us. I encourage ALL children to get this if they can. Please if you have any questions as to if your child should attend daycare please feel free to ask. The new sign-in & out should be up and running on November 27. Every parent will need an email. Once one parent has been contacted, you will be able to assign as many people to pick up your child. Each person will then create their own 8-digit PIN. I will  have this setup on either my phone or an iPad. Unfortunately there is no way to practice this until it goes LIVE. Quality Ratings
I want to thank each and everyone again for helping with new procedures and protocols for rating. We are continuing to follow the new ways, as the kids love it. On Friday, December 8, will be Parent Appreciation, please take a minute in the morning to get yourself some breakfast here and when you come to pick up your child please take a minute to enjoy a piece of cake. If your child will not be here on this date, please plan to stop by. Our new rating will be announced, (even if I have to appeal anything, lol)

***Yearly Rate Increase***
Reminder that everyone's rate will increase on January 1, 2018. It will be $1/day/child.
