April Newsletter

Spring is in Air

It's getting warm out and all I can do is think of the flowers and all the color that is starting to appear and how much the kids enjoy the outdoors this time of year.

Please be thinking about your plans for childcare for over the summer. Next month I will have a list of our activities for each day.

***Ratings***
We are on list for the Colorado Quality Standard's to come out and rate our program. I will keep everyone informed as to what month they will be out.  I am very excited to see what we rate.

Strengthening Families Program Evaluation
Over the past month I have taken an overall program evaluation that had to do with the connections between the program and your families. Results show that the program is in need of adding in parenting classes and activities for just fathers. At this time I will not be adding these in, but will re-evaluate this in the future.

Healthy Beginnings Active Futures Grant
I just recieved word that there is a grant out there to help daycare programs out to help children be active and healthy. I am applying for this to help place an awning out in the back yard to help provide shade and seeing about adding in cement into the area where there is rocks to give the kids a larger place to ride their trikes. If there is enough left over I would like to add in some pea gravel along the one fence to make it more of the kids area. If you have any suggestions.....I would like some feedback.

The kids will be asked to bring ONE toy from home on FRIDAY'S ONLY, but now they have to help pick something that we have learned from the week. I will put on the board what they need to help pick out from home. Example: 1st Week we will be working on the letter A & the color Blue. If you could help them find something at home that starts with the letter A, like the sound in APPLE or something with the color Blue.

Please bring this item in a bag, labeled with their name. Since we are going to have a specific day to bring a toy, I am asking for ALL other toys to stay at home all other days.
