Day WITH Child Care
On May 11, 2026, as we stand in solidarity with the “Day Without Child Care” movement. The 2026 Angel Hugs Early Learning focus is “Days WITH Child Care” along with Colorado Association of Family Child Care (CAFCC).
We are asking families to complete this form. CAFCC will use responses in a social media campaign.
Follow CAFCC on Facebook (@ColoCAFCC), like and share the graphics and posts that are posted the week before and of May 11th.
I will email graphics out for you to the days before/after, May 11th
I will print stickers for your families to wear to work on, or the days before/after, May 11th highlighting that child care allows them to work. Post a picture of yourselves wearing the stickers on social media and use the suggested hashtags.

Recognizing A Day Without Child Care (May 11, 2026) is crucial as it illustrates to families, employers, and legislators the challenges that arise when parents are left without child care. Colorado Association of Family Child Care (CAFCC) members play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and home-like environment for children while their families are at work. As we contemplate the implications of a day without child care, it becomes evident that child care is not merely a service; it is an essential foundation that supports and strengthens our communities. While the national movement aims to spotlight the critical need for accessible child care by closing for the day, we recognize that many of our providers are committed to supporting families by staying open.

SUMMER FUN & "NEW SUMMER CURRICULUM"
We are going to have some changes for this summer. It is very unfortunate, that we will not be able to get a substitute teacher for Mondays. Which makes it to where we will not be able to visit the pool on Mondays. I know that is one of my favorite things for our Summer Fun Program and for many of our kids, but we have been doing lots of brainstorming and I am super excited to share what is in store!!!!
We have been offered a Curriculum Pilot Program for the next 4 months. Experience Early Learning offers more of a process-based style vs product-based style. Which is something I believe is a need for the ages of the children in our group. This will still be our Summer Fun, as it won't be as strict of structure, but offer lots of growth and fun. I thought this would be a great way to give this curriculum a try, especially with some changes that we are needing to take place due to less water usage. This curriculum does a lot with exploration of nature and STEM.
Product-base is the adult telling the children what we are making and placing an expectation on the end result. Process-base is the child taking what we learned about and drawing it, building something from it, etc. Process-base is the child's true interpretation of learning or the experience.

Annual Supply Fee
$200.00 a year per child will be billed in August. This will help offset curriculum and consumable materials. I will be having parents sign a sheet saying that you have been told about this soon.

For all other illnesses we will be following CDPHE, "How Sick is Too Sick" as to when to keep your child home with you. Just remember that a lot of illnesses are contagious before symptoms appear, including the actual Flu, COVID, and many, many others.

Blanket Policy
Due to safety issues and to reduce risks, no child under the age of 2 will be given a blanket for nap time. Infants birth to 12 months will be provided a sleep sack as stated in the Infant Safe Sleep Policy as needed.Preschool News
